Ferries provide regular service to the Seattle area from Bremerton, Kingston, Bainbridge Island and Port Orchard. In fact, Washington State Ferries operates one of the most extensive ferry services in the nation.
Kitsap Ferry Company also offers convenient and fast passenger-only ferry service between Bremerton and Seattle. Ferries run during regular commuter hours in addition to extra runs for special events such as professional sports games and concerts. Kitsap Transit operates a private passenger-only ferry service between Bremerton and Port Orchard, which runs every half hour.
Kitsap Transit provides affordable service in an expansive bus route with access services and regular vanpools available. Paratransit Services assists disabled and disadvantaged residents.
Bremerton National Airport, operated by the Port of Bremerton, boasts one of the longest runways in Western Washington. The Port also has easy rail access for companies with shipping needs. They recently signed an agreement with the Port of Grays Harbor to allow easy access from the Pacific Coast directly to the Port of Bremerton. This innovative agreement dramatically cuts shipping time for savvy businesses.
Several major state highways criss-cross the county connecting the Kitsap Peninsula with the Hood Canal Bridge and Olympic Mountains to the north and the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and the I-5 corridor to the south.
